The traditional village of Xerosterni (or Xirosterni) can be found on the road east of Vamos on the Apokoronas Peninsular in West Crete. 

Surrounded by wonderful scenery and well preserved local folk architecture, the village is built around an interesting church - the Church of Christ - where a local festival takes place every August.

A very traditional village, with many old houses and interesting architecture, Xerosterni is a perfect destination away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist resorts.

Just a few minutes away you will find local kafeneons and tavernas in the village of Kefalas, while the town of Vamos has all the amenities you need for day to day living including shops, health centre and post office.

Xerosterni is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area including the beautiful sandy beaches of Almerida, Kalives and Georgioupolis and the freshwater lake at Kournas.
