Greece Is A Safe Option For Investors

Posted on October 29, 2008 17:42 by Melanie

During tough financial times many investors are looking to Greek property rather than stocks and shares. Greece has a stable economy.

With the global financial market in turmoil, knowing where to invest your money isn't as straightforward as it used to be. Stocks and shares are more volatile now than over the past couple of decades, and banks are collapsing throughout the world.

While the ripples of the credit crunch are spreading far and wide there are safe havens waiting to be exploited.

Greece is one of the few European countries to be guaranteeing all deposits in its banking system at the moment, and The Telegraph recently reported the country was at the heart of a new financial Europe.

Greece's own economy is one of the fastest growing in the Euro-zone, with the country enjoying a sustained economic boom post 2000, including a significant expansion in construction and engineering. Read More

Οχι Day Tue 28th Oct Bank Holiday

Posted on October 25, 2008 15:08 by Melanie
On the 28th of October, 1940, Italy, backed by Hitler, wanted to occupy Greece; the Italian ambassador in Greece, Emanuele Grazzi, at dawn (04:00 AM), after a party in the German embassy in Athens, demanded that Greece allow Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy certain unspecified "strategic locations" or otherwise face war. General Ioannis Metaxas simply responded "Ochi!" - "No!" More...

Now is the time to buy!!!

Posted on August 5, 2008 13:36 by Melanie

Its bad news with the credit crunch in the UK, but it great news for buying property overseas.  The credit crunch is keeping property prices overseas low.  As soon as the crunch is over your property in Crete will have almost doubled in price Money mouth.  It is hard to get on the property ladder in the UK, so jump on in Crete. Crete is still an upcoming and growing market.  The rules of a good investment are: buy low and sell high.  New Century Homes start from as low as €59,000 which is only ₤47,500.  Now is the time to buy.

Whats happening in August

Posted on July 26, 2008 15:01 by Melanie
Here in Crete from around the 25 July to the end of August many places close.  You will find Banks, lawyers and accountants will not be working during this time.  It is like in the olden days when the factories and mines used to close down for August.  If you have anything important to sort out I suggest you do it now.  Apart from that it means there’ll be a lot more festivals and celebrations going on.    More...
